Here is a little bit about me:
I was always drawing as a child, and now I realise it was how I communicated. I was shy and not very good at reading or writing, so I just drew, and then in my teens I just stopped. It wasn’t until I had my first child that I reconnected with my inner child again and started drawing. After a few years, I was offered my first job illustrating children’s books, and so it began.
However, after completing my fourth book, I began to feel disconnected from my creative process and decided to apply to study an MA in Children’s Illustration at Cambridge School of Art — to my surprise, they let me in! The MA gave me the space to experiment, reflect, and develop a visual voice that feels far more authentically my own. I have also discovered that I love to write.
My practice is rooted in play and material exploration, with a particular love of mixed media and the contrast it creates. I work spontaneously and energetically, guided by curiosity.
I’m drawn to creating atmosphere and emotion, aiming to evoke a strong sense of feeling within my work. Projects often begin with observation in my sketchbook, blending the everyday with elements of magic and wonder inspired by childhood. I hope my work brings a little much-needed magic into everyday life.

I live in Maidstone, Kent, with my husband and two children, and when I’m not at my desk I am usually walking in the woods or searching for our ‘escape artist’ pet tortoise, George.

I was shortlisted for the Orange Beak / Shirley Hughes Sketchbook Awards in 2025, and I have been awarded The winner of the Sebastian Walker Prize for Illustration 2026. I have also had my book 'A Place Here' Selected for the 2026 Dpictus Showcase in Bologna.
